Overwatch Nintendo Switch Port Officially Unveiled

September 4, 2019 by Dennis Patrick

The video game will be launching next month.

Overwatch is a Blizzard-developed team-based multiplayer shooter surrounded around heroes. We’ve seen a few of these video game titles based on heroes and their various abilities launch into the market lately though it still seems that Overwatch remains one of the best video game hero shooters to purchase. There’s a variety of game modes to choose from which may have you tweaking your role, character classes and of course strategy within the team. Likewise, the development team behind Overwatch, Blizzard Entertainment, will introduce new heroes into the game from time-to-time.

Now, this video game is finally hitting the Nintendo Switch platform. During today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, it was unveiled that Blizzard is bringing over the team-based shooter for players to enjoy on the console hybrid. This game has been around for several years now so chances are you already know about the title or have even played it on a different platform.

If by chance you haven’t then we highly recommend checking out our Before You Buy episode upload for Overwatch. We give you gameplay footage and talk about our overall thoughts about the title. It’s worth noting that this is a multiplayer-only video game title so don’t expect any single-player campaign to go through. It’s relatively easy to grasp game but will take some strategy with players checking out the different heroes available to see just what character suits you the best.

As it stands right now, it looks like we won’t have to wait too much longer before we’re able to enjoy Overwatch on the Nintendo Switch. Currently, the game is set to launch next month, October 15, 2019. Otherwise, you can enjoy today on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One platform.
