CD Projekt Red has one of the most anticipated video game titles releasing next year. Everyone is talking about Cyberpunk 2077 and for good reason, the information along with the footage showcased has generated a ton of interest. Coming off the successful trilogy known as The Witcher series, the development team is bringing players into a futuristic open-world where crime, greed and corrupt corporations thrive. We’ve been keeping our eye on the video game since its announcement and today, the development studio chimed in on the multiplayer aspect of this title once again.
In the past, CD Projekt Red has stated that the multiplayer component for Cyberpunk 2077 was being tested out internally in order to decide just what modes would work for the game. Now, a new tweet from the official CD Projekt Red Twitter account alerted the world that the studio is moving away from testing and more towards actual development. As a result, the studio is hiring to help bring this multiplayer component into fruition.

With that said, don’t expect anything in terms of multiplayer during its initial launch. Instead, it was noted on Twitter that the plan right now is to release Cyberpunk 2077 followed by free DLC and new single-player content. Afterward, the studio will be able to focus on multiplayer and release it into the market. Again, we don’t know just what the multiplayer aspect for CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 will entail, but at the very least we know that this component will be included in the game at some point.
For now, we can expect Cyberpunk 2077 to launch on April 16, 2020, for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One along with a release for the Google Stadia at a later date.
