After long-requesting to join the Gears movie adaptation, Dave Bautista is finally joining the gear franchise in some fashion thanks to the upcoming title Gears 5.
Announced on the actor’s Twitter account, Dave Bautista will be joining Gears 5 as a playable character after WWE’s Night of Champions pay-per-view event, which is slated for Sunday, September 15.

This is pretty exciting for both fans of the Gears franchise and Bautista as it seems he is a genuine fan of the series. So far there are some pretty cool characters to play as such as a T8000 from Terminator as well as some Halo ODST characters.
In recent Gears 5 news, The Coalition Studio Head Rod Fergusson sat down for an interview with Gamespot, where he talked more on how he drew inspiration from BioShock Infinite’s mechanics to design Gears 5’s ‘player-initiated combat.’ The interview is very interesting and gives plenty of detail of the latest entry’s gameplay mechanics.
