Obliteration is a new mode in Battlefield 4, and it's described as one of the most frantic and high-paced modes available in the game. Two teams face off on a medium-sized battleground where one bomb spawns in a random central location. The mission of both teams is to pick up the bomb and arm it at one of the enemy's three military installations and blow it the hell up. Once the bomb explodes ,a new one spawns in a random location and the race is on once again. The first team to blow up all three objectives wins the match.
As you can expect, the single available bomb creates a strong focal point of action, with both teams risking everything to acquire it and to prevent the other team from doing so. The mode is all about keeping on the offensive and being as mobile as possible.
With obliteration in mind, here are a few tips to get you going in no particular order:
– Do not worry about your kill/death ratio. It doesn't matter not one bit. Your goal is to help the bomb carrier and destroy the enemy base, not to go out of your way to get kills.
– When the bomb has been recently detonated, wait for it to show up on your map before spawning in and paradrop in to the location. It makes little sense to spawn a long distance from the bomb unless you're in a vehicle.
– If you're carrying the bomb, do not under any circumstances enter the water or try to swim.
– Helicopters are the easiest way to get to the bomb and take it to where it needs to go, so take out the enemy team's with a laze and prevent them from doing the same to yours.
– Prioritize your targets as follows: Bomb carrier, transport, attack, anti-aircraft, infantry.
– If you aren't protecting the bomb carrier, you should be defending one of the bomb sites or lazing enemy helicopters.
– As a bomb carrier, do not get into a tank unless you're under heavy infantry gunfire. Being in a tank or any other armored vehicle makes you a big target for your enemies as a bomb carrier.
