Sometimes, leaks happen where you just don’t expect them. Cliff Martinez, the composer behind the memorable soundtrack for Drive, has seemingly let slip his involvement in the yet-to-be-confirmed Far Cry 4, thanks to an interview that had nothing to do with game. Really, there’s been no talk of a fourth jungle adventure at all, so this revelation is coming out of the blue.
Martinez was caught discussing his composing role in the game during an interview with Lost in the Multiplex, which has since been updated to remove any mention of Ubisoft’s next big open-world shooter. However, someone was nice enough to take a screenshot of the original text before it was too late, so you can take a gander at the information for yourself if you don’t believe us.
The expulsion of the game’s name from the interview seems more damning than anything else, as it’s highly likely that Ubisoft asked the website to not make mention of something it’s not ready to announce. Even if there were big narrative issues in Far Cry 3, the game sold well and was just fun to play. A new game on next-generation technology? It’s difficult to not get excited for what’s to come from this reinvigorated franchise.
