People come to the NBA for big dunks, slick jump shots, and long-distance threes that only the pros can hit. When both teams reach well over 80 points in an average game, it’s easy to see how the audience often associates the sport with fast, high-volume shooting. However, there’s much more to basketball than just adding points to the scoreboard. Intelligent passing is the key that opens the door to more points, and a new video from YouTube user Ovais1470 shows just what can be done with the ball in the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of NBA 2K14.
The community member intelligently uses the Los Angeles Lakers for the passing demonstration, as recent member Steve Nash is one of the greatest passers the league has ever seen. All of the flashy moves have button prompts and descriptions associated with them in order to give viewers tips on how to pull it off at home, which should do wonders in online play. The shooting, accomplished via the new Pro Stick feature, might not be the best in the video, but the means by which the player gets to the hoop over and over again takes some serious skill.
If you don’t already know, NBA 2K14 is available now for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. If you’re interested in the next-generation versions of the game, take a look at the first gameplay running on the PlayStation 4.
