Super Lucky’s Tale is a platformer from development studio Playful Corp. Originally released as an Oculus Rift exclusive the game is a 3D platformer that follows a fox named Lucky who is on a quest to help his sister in protecting the Book of Ages which holds entire worlds. Gameplay was mimicked from the early 3D platform titles such as Banjo-Kazooie and Super Mario 64, however, the game was eventually released outside of the Oculus Rift for the Xbox One and PC platform.
This transition gave the gameplay a bit more normalcy in comparison to the VR aspect implemented in the game. Now New Super Lucky’s Tale is in the works and slated to release for the Nintendo Switch this year. Gamers can expect an expanded version of the game according to Venture Beat, but we only got a few bits of information about the upcoming title thanks to the official Nintendo listing.
“Experience an incredible variety of gameplay, ranging from 3D open-world hubs to story-based adventure levels to 2D side-scrolling challenges, rewarding mini-games, mind-bending puzzles, thrilling boss battles, and a memorable cast of characters!
A true love letter to classic 3D platformers, with hundreds of collectibles to gather, tons of rewarding secrets to unlock, and an entire wardrobe of costumes for the stylish adventurer!
New Super Lucky’s Tale features all new levels, story, cinematics and character dialogue, tighter movement and player controls, a fully rotatable 3D camera, and sweet upgrades to nearly every other aspect of the game, including art and lighting, UI, sound, music, and more!”
