NBA 2K14 finally launches on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 tomorrow, but instead of sitting here and discussing how excited we all are to see the best players in the world take to the virtual courts, let’s talk about the next generation. All of the gameplay footage that’s been provided by 2K up to this point has showcased what can be done on current hardware, and while the presentation has been impressive, a fresh trailer featuring the PS4 and Xbox One graphical capabilities has just been released that blows everything else out of the water.
The short TV sport holds about five seconds of actual in-game footage from the upgraded builds launching this November, and if players like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and James Harden really do look this good in real time, then it’s time to get excited for the future. The song being played in the video it titled, “Step into a World” by KRS-One, which sets a nice tone for the slick moves of cover athlete LeBron James.
Is this smoke and mirrors, or are we actually seeing what the new wave of technology can pull off? The 2K Sports video insists that everything being shown is authentic, but we’ll have to wait until November to see the PS4 and Xbox One sports titles in action. For now, take a look at the team ranking system that 2K14 will incorporate.
