Planetary Annihilation, Uber Entertainment's Kickstarter-backed real-time strategy game and spiritual sequel to Total Annihilation is now available through Steam Early Access and Uber's digital store for $59.99.
The game, which entered Alpha not too long ago, was available to early backers of Kickstarter who donated more than $80 as well as newcomers on Steam. Today, the game enters into Beta, providing cheaper access for newcomers and welcomes an all new batch of Kickstarter backers who supported the game at a lower price tier.
The new Beta adds the ability to use planets as bases, as well as colonize asteroids, strap rockets to them, and launch them into other planets. Players have full access to a wide array of units, which include naval, air, ground, and orbital machines including tanks, jets, subs, bots, and battleships.
Up to 10 players can participate in online skirmishes in free-for-all and team-based matches. Just as well, players who prefer to go it alone can take on multiple AIs in single-player.
Planetary Annihilation has an expected release date of December. Players with early access to the game will retain their copy once it hits retail.
