Sony has revealed in their official Playstation Blog that critical and commercial smash The Last Of Us is getting some really good single player and multiplayer DLC. There are three Season Pass DLC drops scheduled, the first being the Abandoned Territories Map Pack.
The pack is coming October 15 and will feature the Suburbs, a Bus Depot, a Hometown and a Bookstore. The Suburbs will be highly randomized with a dynamic dust storm. The Bus Depot is described as an overgrown urban environment with giraffes (possibly next to a zoo?). The Hometown will be moonlit, and made for stealth action. The Bookstore won’t be a bore with a bi-level layout encouraging uniquely vertical gameplay.
Sony also shares they have their first story based single player DLC is set to wrap production soon. They just finished casting for a new character, and will being performance capture shooting next week. This DLC will have a very ambitious story that ties in with the main narrative of The Last Of Us. As of now, it is scheduled to release sometime between December to January, which may be a hint that it will not be an exceedingly large story.
Finally, the 3rd DLC pack will be focused on multiplayer, and is scheduled to arrive in the first half of next year.
For now, Season Pass holders are getting some bonus items, perhaps a little early for Halloween. 60 new head items for multiplayer include a Nightmare Mask and a Pigskin Hat. Each item can be purchased separately, but of course getting the Season Pass now will make getting everything so much cheaper, by around 75 %.
