Thousands of gamers seemed to simply hand Sony the coveted next-generation crown the moment Jack Tretton announced the $399 price tag for the PlayStation 4 at this year’s E3. Although it’s far too soon to tell which console manufacturer will come out of this war with the big win, the $100 difference between the PS4 and Xbox One is a bullet point too big to ignore. Sony has an early advantage, but the company’s UK managing director, Fergal Gara, knows that how much a console costs isn’t the biggest deciding factor.
“Price isn't everything. It's an advantage, but it can move over time,” Gara said in a new interview with CVG. “Value to the consumer is everything, which is price and quality of content for that price. We feel in very good shape on that front. We're really pleased.”
