Remedy Gains Alan Wake IP Back From Microsoft, Potential True Sequel Could Finally Happen

July 1, 2019 by Jordan Biazzo

What do you want to see Remedy do with the Alan Wake IP?

Remedy has announced that they have regained the publishing rights to their critically acclaimed 2010 title, Alan Wake!

After almost a decade since the original title released on the Xbox 360, Alan Wake has finally returned home to Remedy! The game was critically acclaimed due to its unique gameplay and riveting story. Now with Remedy regaining rights to the franchise, perhaps there will be some content for the series, such as an official sequel!

Check out the official tweet from studio head Sam Lake down below:

Check out the official description of Alan Wake if you never really heard of it before down below:

When the wife of the best-selling writer Alan Wake disappears on their vacation, his search turns up pages from a thriller he doesn’t even remember writing. A Dark Presence stalks the small town of Bright Falls, pushing Wake to the brink of sanity in his fight to unravel the mystery and save his love.

Presented in the style of a TV series, Alan Wake features the trademark Remedy storytelling and pulse-pounding action sequences. As players dive deeper and deeper into the mystery, they’ll face overwhelming odds, plot twists, and cliffhangers. It’s only by mastering the Fight With Light combat mechanic that they can stay one step ahead of the darkness that spreads across Bright Falls.

With the body of an action game and the mind of a psychological thriller, Alan Wake’s intense atmosphere, deep and multilayered story, and exceptionally tense combat sequences provide players with an entertaining and original gaming experience.

Their latest game, Control, is set to release this Summer on August 27. However, with the publishing rights back at Remedy, would you like to see the developers make a sequel to the critically acclaimed original horror title? Let us (and them) know in the comments below!
