Sony hopes to stream PS3 titles on the PS4 through the Gaikai service sometime in 2014. When speaking with Dengeki Online, Shuhei Yoshida president of Worldwide Studios at SCE spoke of a larger goal to bring PlayStation titles to other devices.
Yoshida hopes that one day PlayStation games will stream to other devices such as PCs, smartphones and tablets.
"Speaking of the ultimate goal, we would like to deliver PlayStation games to all devices. So we’re considering various things like PC, TVs, Blu-ray players, smartphones and tablets," he explained. "We hope to continue to expand not only to Sony devices, but even to devices other than Sony’s. This is still being studied."
Sony recently announced the PS Vita TV in Japan which allows people to play Vita games on their television, along with other services.
The PS4 Gaikai service currently finds itself delayed behind internet and television limitations in Europe. The Gaikai service should arrive on the PS4 for North America in 2014.
