Reddit user Infernal-Blaze has shared some secrets about Metal Gear Solid 5 gleaned from the demo. Fair warning, of course, since this is still a demo, none of these details are 100 % confirmed for the final game.
For one, you will be able to sprint even while you are carrying bodies. Not quite realistic but an ability that will no doubt be useful.
The game’s trademark ‘!’ signal is back, as a button prompt.
Throwing people around has a more visible effect. Infernal-Blaze relates having thrown someone against some wood with force, and seeing his head crack.
Speaking of throwing, you can throw an opponent towards another opponent to get an instant K.O. I am sure this will look goofy and you will have to do it at some point.
Tranquilizer guns are still BS, so you can forget that.
The animation is seamless except for one part. When you hit the ground after falling, there seem to be no accompanying animations. Again, since this is still a demo, it’s possible that this has just not been added yet.
Overall, Infernal-Blaze feels that Metal Gear Solid 5’s gameplay remains solid and characteristic of the series. He found that Kojima is taking the franchise in the right direction.
Lemonliam15 adds in one final tip to boot. The suppressors ‘run out’ all over again.
Do any of these secrets sound tantalizing to you? We’ve seen hints of more insane new abilities for Snake since he could ride a horse and shift to hide on one side. It should be interesting to see how the game develops further in the months leading to its release.
