When millions of people all over the world attempt to login to a single social feature of a game, problems are likely to crop up. Grand Theft Auto 5 launched this week to a chorus of high critical praise and consumer demand, and while plenty of people are currently skipping work and spending endless hours tearing up the game’s massive environment, players attempting to access the Rockstar Social Club and the iFruit app are running into difficulties. Thankfully, the vigilant developer is looking into resolving the issues as soon as possible.
"We are aware of these issues with Social Club or related networking hardware/services and have been working to resolve them as quickly as possible," Rockstar said in its support page. "Please note that we are aware of some reports about problems with the iFruit App (available on iTunes), such as login errors, endless loading spinners, and the app appearing to reset data. Rest assured that we are working to resolve this as quickly as possible."
The iFruit app is a new feature to the series that lets players customize different parts of their single and multiplayer experience from their phone or tablet. Different aspects of the vehicles can be tweaked this way, but as of now, the network isn’t exactly holding up under the pressure of the community.
That doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy what might be the biggest video game release of 2013. If you haven’t yet, you can pick up Grand Theft Auto 5 right now for PS3 and Xbox 360 today.
