The Long Dark, a new title from Hinterland Games, which I personally interviewed last week, has just landed on Kickstarter as promised.
The game is being developed as an episodic first-person sandbox survival experience set in North America after the event of an cataclysmic disaster. The Long Dark is being developed by Hinterland Games, which is comprised of veterans from Relic, Bioware, Riot, and Volition. Needless to say, these men and women know what they're doing.
The game has 28 days to go in order to reach its stipulated goal of $200,000. As of now, over a thousand backers have pledged over $30,000. It still has a long way to go before it meets its goal.
Should the game meet its Kickstarter goal, it will be released on the PC, Mac and Linux in October 2014.
