When it comes to Pokemon the franchise is a massive phenomenon. We have playing cards, video games, movies, animated series, toys, and the list continues. So naturally there’s a huge market for The Pokemon Company to tap into at any given time and it looks like we’re going to see another video game announced and released before the end of the fiscal year. DeNA, a mobile development studio who has worked with Nintendo before on a number of video game titles have revealed that a new Pokemon video game is inbound. However, the fine details about the game won’t be announced until a later date.
Pokemon has two main installments coming out this year for the Nintendo Switch. They are Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. However, it looks like we are going to see another mobile title released under the Pokemon franchise umbrella. DeNA announced through their financial report that a new Pokemon smartphone game is coming soon in partnership with The Pokemon Company but information and game launch timing won’t be announced until a later date, but it’s expected to release before the fiscal year.
DeNA, as mentioned, has worked on a number of Nintendo properties for the smartphone market. For instance, they have released Super Mario Run, Fire Emblem Heroes, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and will be launching Mario Kart Tour in the near future. For now, we’ll have to wait and see just what this next Pokemon video game will be about.
