Konami Announces Full Lineup of Castlevania Titles for Anniversary Collection, Set to Release May 16

April 18, 2019 by Jordan Biazzo

Mark your calendars!

Konami has announced earlier this year that a special collection of hit Konami games would be releasing this year and one of the franchises featured, was the beloved Castlevania series.

Today, the PlayStation Blog has brought more news about the new collection, which will definitely excite some fans. If you’re itching to get your hands on Castlevania, you’ll be happy to hear that the new collection will be available on the PS4, Xbox One, Pc, and Nintendo Switch starting May 16.

The Castlevania Anniversary Collection will come with 8 great titles, for both fans of the series and newcomers alike to enjoy. Konami also noted that they are still currently working on the Contra Anniversary Collection, but there is nothing new to share at the moment.

The eight Castlevania games that will be included the collection are as follows:

Castlevania Bloodlines

Released over 25 years ago, Castlevania Bloodlines has been a sought-after classic by retro game collectors worldwide and now will be playable on a PlayStation console for the first time ever.

Kid Dracula

Kid Dracula is a rare gem in the Castlevania Anniversary Collection. Since its original release in 1990 as Boku Dracula-kun in Japan, Kid Dracula will make its way outside Japan for the first time!

Castlevania the Adventure

Originally released in 1989, Castlevania the Adventure was the very first Castlevania game made for a portable console. As Christopher Belmont, players will experience new experiments in Castlevania gameplay adapted for a handheld console.

Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest

Simon’s Quest evolved the gameplay from the original Castlevania, encouraging players to explore Transylvania in search for the scattered pieces of Dracula’s body.

And the 4 previous;y announced titles to join the collection from earlier this year:

Castlevania (NES),

Castlevania 2: Belmont’s Revenge (Game Boy),

Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse (NES)

 Super Castlevania 4(Super NES).

Castlevania Anniversary Collection is set to release for the PS4, Xbox One, Pc, and Nintendo Switch on May 16. Are you excited for this new collection? Let us know in the comments below!
