The latest video for Pokemon X & Y demonstrates a Super Training mini game Game Freak created to help players EV train their pokemon with the most effectiveness and efficiency.
Once you look past the face painted show host, the demo begins by showing where a pokemon's statistics lean towards. The statistics of each pokemon depends on their type and the enemies they face. EV training, or Effort Value training, refers to training pokemon to purposely excel in specific base statistics. For increased Special Attack, players would face pokemon who also excel in Special attack.
To avoid training endlessly on low level monsters, the Super Training video offers one of a collection of mini games like the soccer ball target game demonstrated in the video. If successful, the Super Training increases statistics in specific areas. The Super Training should cut down on EV training, or at the very least, bring some variety to the endless grind of EV training all your pokemon.
Pokemon X & Y will launch worldwide on October 12th for the 3DS.
