Watch Battlefield 4’s Levolution in Real Life

September 6, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

A building gets demolished and we get to watch.

After watching collapsing skyscrapers in Battlefield 4 during the E3 trailer and at any other time, have you ever asked yourself what the real deal would look like?

To that end, EA Games' German counterpart, Electronic Arts DE, intends to answer that question by putting together a thing where they rigged an abandoned apartment complex to explode as part of a marketing stunt. They painted over a wall with a logo of Frostbyte 3, the engine powering Battlefield 4, presumably to showcase the Levolution aspect of EA Dice's upcoming first person shooter.

In the video, they showcase the building's destruction and subsequent collapse with a bass-heavy rendition of the Battlefield theme song.

To the untrained eye, the demolition looks a little sloppy as the buildings surrounding the demolished structure take some collateral damage, but one must keep in mind that the rest of the buildings in the vicinity are also abandoned, so caution wasn't taken to preserve the area surrounding the blast zone.
