Sony Japan is to host a "strict lottery" through which applicants will be accpeted for a Dark Souls 2 network test which will be start in late September.
The first test is to be held on September 29th while the second is scheduled for October 12th. The final test is set for October 27th. Those interested will be able to apply from September 5th and taking part in the test will not cost you a penny – it's unclear if gamers outside Japan will be able to take part.
According to an email from Sony:
"The Dark Souls II network test is a pre- validation test to have you play the game a prior to the official launch."
The test is designed to ensure that the title's unique multiplayer mode will be up to the right standards come the game's release in March 2014 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
Those who win will be notified by email but Sony warns that only the email address attached to a specific PlayStation Network account will be accpeted and you will not be able to give access to the test to another player.
You can find out more on the test's website.
