While Sony hasn't mentioned it yet, it seems that the PlayStation 4 camera offers Kinect-like voice commands – at least if Amazon's product page is to be believed.
The camera's listing states that:
From navigational voice commands to facial recognition, the PlayStation Camera adds incredible innovation to your gaming.
Perhaps the reason Sony hasn't detailed the feature is due to the fact that the PS4 camera does not come with the console while the Xbox One includes Kinect. However, Amazon France today listed a PS4 Killzone: Shadow Fall bundle which includes the camera, game and a second controller for €499.
If the listing is accurate we'll find out for certain when the system is released this November. Yesterday a Microsoft webpage stated that the Kinect's voice command inputs would only be supported in five countries at the launch of the console.
Should the PS4's camera accept voice commands in the majority of the system's 32 launch regions than it may allow Sony to negate Kinect's advantage despite the omission of the camera from every PS4.
The PS4 is set to be released on November 15th in North America and on November 29th in Europe for $399/€399/£349. The camera costs $60/€60/£55.
