Mortal Kombat will soon have its next major installment, Mortal Kombat 11, and while we still are waiting to hear about the full roster, we do know at least one character portrayal. It turns out that this time around the famed fighter, Sonya Blade will be portrayed by Rhonda Rousey, MMA superstar and now a WWE superstar. It’s a fitting character portrayal as Rhonda has managed to bring in plenty of views with her MMA matches along with a few stints within the film industry. Now, this worldwide fighter is lending her likeness and voice for Sonya.
While we knew that Rhonda Rousey was taking on the role of Sonya Blade for a while now, it looks like Rhonda and the development team over at NetherRealm Studios is getting some further advertising in. During a WWE match earlier this week Rhonda Rousey decided to enter the ring in full Sonya Blade garb. We have to admit, it’s pretty neat to see an actor or actress who takes the role of a video game character, actually advertising the character in general. Likewise, we know that Rhonda is a fan of the video game series in general as she has spoken out before of her love of playing Mortal Kombat growing up.

As for Mortal Kombat 11, it seems that there is a play on time manipulation which resulted in various character designs and costumes from over the years. Currently, Mortal Kombat 11 is slated to launch on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and lastly, the Nintendo Switch platforms on April 23, 2019.
