Don’t forget that, at its core, the Assassin’s Creed series is about killing without making a sound. Although it doesn’t mirror the classic stealth titles in its execution, Ubisoft’s flagship open-world game incorporates a great deal of sleuthing into many of its missions. Black Flag hasn’t forgotten its roots, and the most recent trailer coming out of this week’s Gamescom proves this by focusing on the many ways protagonist Edward Kenway does away with his enemies without alerting a crowd.
The open sea doesn’t exactly allow for too much subtlety, but not every single skirmish will take place with a moving body of water below everyone’s feet. The great outdoors hold many unique pieces of flora and fauna to use as cover, and when the sun does set, assassins tend to get quite creative with their kills. Take a look at the above video for more neck and face stabbings than most people can handle in under two minutes.
