Earlier today, we shared with you the winners of the Dark Souls 2 Shield Design Contest, as selected by FROM SOFTWARE. Now, we have new information on the shield designs selected by the community, as well as all the shield names.
FROM Software’s picks are:
Great shield template:
Guardian Shield (hand imprint)
Great Shield of the Raven Goddess (raven from above with outstretched wings)
Round shield template:
Shield of Ash (another bird emblem, presumably the phoenix)
Sunlight Warrior Dark (shield has illustration of a man holding a bright torch)
Crest shield template:
Disunion (emblem of twin snakes in light and dark)
Rose Shield (showing a simple giant rose).
The community picks are as follows (number of votes also included):
Great shield template
Marcus Shield (pig in bas-relief) 4271 votes
Tally Shield (no emblem, spotted design) 3403 votes
Round shield template
Blue Eye Shield (swirling eye logo) 997 votes
Mask of the Enemy (image of a face stretched out end to end) 748 votes
Crest shield template
Ire Shield (Lion emblem) 1994 votes
Calamity Shield (ruby centered in a stylized design) 859 votes
The Marcus shield, notably, was made as a tribute to famous YouTuber ENB aka EpicNameBro, who dedicated hours to discovering Dark Souls’ secrets playing the Japanese version far before the US release. It should be no surprise, then, that it was the most popular community choice.
All of the winners get a special edition of Dark Souls II. Which of these designs are you looking forward to seeing in the game?
