On the Lionhead forums the studio announced that a beta for the online based four player co-op game Fable Legends, announced this week at gamescom, will be available sometime next year.
"We will release new and more information about the game on our website, including opportunities for beta testing the game in 2014," Lionhead commented.
"Fable Legends is the only Fable core game in development, and we have no plans to make a sequel to Fable 3. Lionhead always has additional projects in incubation and experimentation, but Fable Legends is the near-exclusive focus of our studio and its development staff."
This isn't entirely true, Fable: Anniversary is currently in development and set to be released later this year for Xbox 360. Fable Legends does not currently have a release date but is an Xbox One exclusive.
Despite the online nature and co-op focus of the game, you can play alone if you so choose with AI controlled characters filling in for other players.
Players can also choose to play as the villain and set traps, place monsters and spring ambushes to ensnare the hero.
