Assassin’s Creed is a massive video game franchise and after coming off their latest release, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Ubisoft is taking a break and letting the franchise breath a little. It was announced last year that Ubisoft would be skipping the 2019 year when it comes to bringing out a new Assassin’s Creed video game installment, but that doesn’t mean that the Ubisoft won’t bring out remastered editions. It was already noted that an Assassin’s Creed III video game would be remastered for the current generation platforms, but what wasn’t known is that the game would also release on the Nintendo Switch platform.
Nintendo Switch is full of great video game titles and the portable hybrid console is certainly taking on ports from past video game releases as well. Ubisoft didn’t make any official announcements yet but a user on Reddit noticed that a Czech retailer posted an Assassin’s Creed III collection which would include Assassin’s Creed III and Assassin’s Creed: Liberation for the Nintendo Switch platform. If you’re unfamiliar with the two titles, Assassin’s Creed III takes place during the American Revolution while Assassin’s Creed: Liberations follows a female protagonist in the French and Indian War.
This retailer also stated that the game would be released on February 15, 2019, but this could just be a placeholder. Most retailers will leave a false release date to a title simply to add the correct and official date once announced. Regardless, this is purely a rumor at the moment but we’ll continue to watch for any further developments and official statements regarding an Assassin’s Creed III collection for the Nintendo Switch platform.
