Nintendo skipped out on Gamescom this week, but they are planning a huge presence for this coming PAX Prime on September 1, including a talk with The Wonderful 101 creator Hideki Kamiya, and a playable demo of Pokemon X and Y.
On September 1, 5 PM, the Pegasus Theatre in Sheraton Seattle Hotel will be hosting “ Inside the Wonderful 101 with Hideki Kamiya.” Kamiya will share insights into the making of Platinum Games’ latest release. There will be a costumed Wonder-Red who will give away Wonder-Masks to attendees.
The Washington State Convention Center’s second floor will be host to the Pokemon Gaming Lounge, which will give American fans their first access to a Pokemon X and Y demo. Fans who visit the lounge can also get some free swag.
The Legend Of Zelda is also getting its own lounge, with playable demos of Wind Waker HD and A Link Between Worlds as well as a Treasure Quest activity which will have fans hunting for treasure around the convention floor.
Pikmin 3 will have a playable demo, as well as a host of upcoming digital titles, the highlight of which is the surprise announcement of Retro City Rampage for the 3DS. Other playable games include Q.U.B.E, Shovel Knight, Armillo, A World of Keflings, Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse, RECCA and the Streetpass Mii Plaza games.
Of course, there will also be Nintendo games at other PAX Prime booths, as well as a retail space to get their games and swag. PAX received some extremely negative press thanks to some ill-conceived public comments a few weeks ago, but as they say, the show must go on, and there will still be an amazing presence from Nintendo and other gaming entities and personalities at the event. We hope attendees will have a good time.
