Blizzard has officially announced the Reaper of Souls expansion for Diablo 3 at its gamescom media event today.
Josh Mosquiera, the game's director, said the add-on will feature a new act with a "darker" story and would also introduce the Crusader class.
Diablo 3 is set to be released on PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 3rd while a PS4 version is set to be launched in 2014. Blizzard has said it intends to optimise each version of the the game for its respective platform and this will also apply to expansions which will not see simultaneous multiplatform release.
Reaper of Souls does not currently have a release date though you can check out the teaser site which simply has a quotes from the Book of Tyrael reading "Death, at last, shall spread its wings over all."
