PS Vita Price Dropped to $199, Memory Cards Reduced [Update]

August 20, 2013 by Andrea Castellano

PS Vita price advertised on Sony’s website.

[Update]

Sony announced a price drop for the PlayStation Vita handheld. The PS Vita will retail for $199.99 and €199. Memory cards will also drop in price to help store any digital titles.

[Original Story]

Just before the gamescom Sony press conference, Sony updated their official website advertising a PS Vita price drop.

The screenshot above shows that The Walking Dead PS Vita bundle will retail for $199.99 instead of the original $299.99 MSRP.

Other retailers like Best Buy Canada and Amazon.ca cut the price of both PS Vita hardware and memory cards. Best Buy's Canadian website mentions a "price drop" on the PS Vita but the list price still indicates $249.99. Amazon.ca also slashed the price of Vita memory cards, even dropping the 32GB $99.99 memory card to $79.99.

More information on the Vita price should release during the gamescom press conference.
