CD Projekt Red is hard at work to deliver one of the most anticipated video game releases, Cyberpunk 2077. After their much beloved and critical acclaim series, The Witcher, the development team is trading the medieval fantasy setting for a new neo cyberpunk world with players being tossed into the big city. This city is full of corrupt businesses and criminal organizations which makes it a tough neighborhood for anyone to live in.
We don’t have too many details quite yet about the game but the gameplay footage revealed to the public has plenty of gamers eagerly waiting for the title to launch. In the past, we’ve heard the developers give the same response in terms of how big this in-game world actually is in comparison to The Witcher 3. For the most part, it’s tough to compare as CD Projekt Red has stated that while Cyberpunk 2077 may not be as large from one end to the other, this title does include a larger vertical scale.
This title is based in a lively city and as a result, there will be a number of buildings that players can explore. Each of these buildings will have a number of floors and in those floors are interactive elements to the game. What may be more impressive is that a new developer statement reveals that nothing in this game will be procedurally generated. According to Maciej Pietras, a lead cinematic animator for CD Projekt Red, Cyberpunk 2077 will be crafted up by developers which means everything in the game is presented there by the development team’s decision.
Again, from the gameplay footage shown, it looks like CD Projekt Red has had a huge undertaking when crafting up the city and those dwelling within it. For now, we are told that Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release on current generation platforms but no release date has been given for the title.
