Capcom Essentials bundles 5 games for $ 59.99

August 15, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

Also includes free travel bag.

Yes, the promos are not stopping today. Capcom announced that they are releasing a special bundle called Capcom Essentials. Five games, four on disc, are coming on sale for either the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360. The package also includes an official Capcom travel bag.

The games included are Devil May Cry 4, Resident Evil 6, Dead Rising 2, Super Street Fighter IV, and Megaman 10.

The best deal out of the lot would be Resident Evil 6, which was released just five months ago. The game has you switching between three different protagonists across different scenarios, and represented a major shift in the franchise. It also received severly mixed reviews for the move away from survival horror towards a more action oriented game. Reservations on the game's position in the series aside, the actual gameplay is mostly solid, so this is a good one to get.

Better received critically are Dead Rising 2, Devil May Cry 4, and Super Street Fighter IV. Dead Rising 2 has you battling zombies in an arena setting. Devil May Cry 4 introduces a new protagonist, Nero, and is the last game in the series before its drastic reboot. There shouldn't be much to say about Street Fighter IV, except that you can always go online to update your copy to the latest version, including the upcoming update, Ultra Street Fighter IV.

Finally, Megaman 10 is a great old school romp available via download code. It's an OK addition, although one does have to wonder why they didn't offer Megaman 9 instead.

In fact, if we were to be honest, one has to question the choice of games selected for this bundle at all. Capcom is barely hiding the possibility that these may be some of their bigger stocks of games lying around, and they simply decided to bundle them together for the season. Nonetheless, $ 59.99 is a good deal to get all of them at once for either PS3 or Xbox 360, so if you had an interest in at least three of these titles, it's one to buy.
