EA Humble Origin Bundle donating all proceeds to charity

August 15, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

All eight games available on Windows, some via Steam and Mac.

EA has announced a very charitable announcement today, launching a Humble Origin Bundle. Six of their bestselling games are available now via Origin.

A minimum purchase of $ 1 is all you need to get copies of Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Mirror's Edge, Dead Space, Dead Space 3, Crysis 2: Maximum Edition, Medal of Honor. If you pay above the average, you can also get copies of Battlefield 3 and The Sims 3. The Sims 3 comes with two expansion packs from the Sims 3 Starter Pack, and is also available on Mac.

If you want to get these deals on Steam, the games available for the bundle there are Crysis 2: Maximum Edition, Dead Space, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Mirror's Edge and Medal of Honor.

But that's not all. Any purchase will automatically net you the soundtracks to both Battlefield 3 and The Sims 3, and Origin keys for all games on Windows.

Humble Origin Bundle benefits five charities; Watsi, which provides healthcare aid worldwide, Human Rights Campaign, the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, the American Cancer Society and the American Red Cross.

As of this writing, there have been a little less than 700,000 Bundles sold, raising over $ 3,000,000, and the average donation (netting you Battlefield 3 and Sims 3) pegged at $ 4.74.

Humble Bundle has received criticism for signing up with AAA devs before, and obviously these games are deeply embedded with DRM. However, this benefits the fans and the charities, so if you've always waited for a good reason to get these games, this is definitely one of them.
