Valve continues to add extra, cosmetic items to their games with the latest update for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Much like DOTA 2 and Team Fortress 2, players will randomly find items such as weapon skins, knives and other cosmetic items. Yesterday Reddit users sifted through the Steam database and located today's update and all of its details ahead of time. The Arms Deal update will introduce over 100 weapon skins along with weapons cases that contain rare items players can keep, sell or trade. Again, like DOTA 2and Team Fortress 2, player will need to purchase keys to open the cases and obtain their contents.
With the update players can also obtain the Stattrak item in cases or through weapons drops. The Stattrak will record specific weapon kills and display them on items like a digital counter on a pistol or engraving on a knife.
To support your favorite eSports teams, a portion of all sales of the the eSports 2013 Weapons Cases will directly fund prize pools at CS:GO eSports events. These special cases will too include their rare, exclusive items.
In addition to all of the cosmetic items, the Arms Deal updates will reintroduce silencers for both the M4A1 rifle and USP pistol. Players will also notice smaller changes like automatic crouch when bomb planting or disposed magazines that don't disappear.Since the update focuses primarily on the cosmetic side of the game, the core gameplay should not change if a player decides to purchase something from the shop.
The update will download automatically when you open your Steam client.
