The final piece of DLC for Arkane and Bethesda’s Dishonored is out today, and if you’ve been keeping up with all of the additional content for the first-person experience, you’re in for a treat. Instead of throwing fans of the game a mindless arena mode or a chunk of tedious, rehashed gameplay without a bit of narrative to spice things up, the developer will be concluding the deep, troubled story of side character Daud in The Brigmore Witches. The launch trailer is here to give you a taste of what you’ll play in the pack, with a special preview of a battle that we’ve all been waiting to see at the end.
The combat has remained enjoyable through the DLC, but why should people care about a side story not featuring the game’s original protagonist, Corvo? If you take a look at our review, you’ll see that there’s more to Dunwall than a single, knife-wielding man.
“It's a shakeup, and since Daud's arc in these DLC packs serves to show us that Corvo's adventure does not represent the whole of everything going on in Dunwall it's easy to appreciate that a group like the Brigmore Witches were there just out of frame the whole time.”
The arc that began with The Knife of Dunwall ends today, as the DLC is available PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC for $9.99. It might not be the sequel you’re eagerly anticipating, but it sure as hell isn’t a bad way to spend an afternoon.
