Resident Evil 2 Remake Will Have Final Scene After Completing Both Campaigns

December 18, 2018 by Dennis Patrick

Capcom also confirms there will be no new monsters.

Since Resident Evil received its remake and remastered editions, gamers started to look for information regarding Capcom going back and remaking Resident Evil 2. A few years ago it was revealed that Resident Evil 2 would, in fact, get the special remake treatment and we’re now really gearing towards its upcoming release in 2019. However, if you were wondering for some new information regarding what to expect, a few more bits of details have been given out to press.

Thanks to Bloody Disgusting for compiling the information given out to select press publications we now have a few more details to share for Resident Evil 2. For instance, we know that the game won’t feature any new monsters. Instead, Capcom gave the existing monsters a new coat of paint but they also tweaked some creatures such as zombies to be more of a difficult enemy to deal with likewise, there are some new forms that William Birkin will go through. This would mean if you’re a purist and wish to enjoy the game as close to the original as possible then you will still be fighting zombie dogs, lickers, spiders and more.

It was also revealed that Capcom was pushing to get the game out back during the Resident Evil 2’s 20th anniversary but it was quickly realized that they would have too much trouble cramming in the work to meet its release. Another interesting tidbit of information that came out is that there will be a final scene when you complete the game as both Leon and Claire.

Currently, Resident Evil 2 will be releasing on January 25, 2019, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms. Unfortunately, there have been reports that there is no work at the current moment for the video game to be brought over on the Nintendo Switch though perhaps that will change after the initial launch.
