The Nintendo Switch console is a hot ticket item these past two years and with the holiday season upon us, we imagine there will be plenty of new adopters eagerly awaiting to unwrap their Nintendo Switch under the Christmas tree. However, these current console editions may be leaving store shelves next year as a rumor circulating online suggests that a new revision will be coming out sometime in 2019. This revision would bring in a few different adjustments to the console, but from what we can tell, it doesn’t look like the current generation console will be left in the dust.
It’s quite the norm for consoles to receive a few revisions during their life cycle. With Sony and Microsoft putting out various revisions that will make the console slimmer and more efficient, Nintendo is following that trend with their Nintendo Switch if the rumor proves to be true. An anonymous source has alerted to GamingIntel that the Nintendo Switch revision will be launching in 2019 where it will come with a larger internal storage capacity. Likewise, there seems to be a new display being placed for the console which will be more energy efficient compared to the current display along with offering a brighter picture.
One element that we could see being tweaked is the battery life. A larger battery would allow gamers to take the device on the go longer than what is currently available now. With all that said, this is purely a rumor at the current moment. We don’t have any statements from Nintendo and there’s nothing currently rumored to suggest that this device will be an overall upgrade to the current system if you already own a Nintendo Switch unit.
At any rate, if Nintendo is working on a revision for the Nintendo Switch for a release in 2019, what is something you would like to see changed? Let us know by leaving a comment down below.
