A member of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive development team Tweeted a picture of a silenced M4 rifle which confirmed the addition of silencers.

The silencers will come part of the next update which the team hinted at in mid July. The base game for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive did not include the silencers on weapons despite previous iterations including them.
Valve continues to update the first-person shooter with additions such as the Operation Payback initiative that rewarded community map makers for their popular maps.
No word on when the update will land but expect some news soon.
