Anthem Demo Will Not Carry Over Progress

December 12, 2018 by Dennis Patrick

Looks like the demo will not save your progress for the full game release.

One of the biggest and most anticipated video game titles coming in 2019 is BioWare’s Anthem. The video game was originally slated to launch this year but has since been pushed back. Taking a stab a brand new IP, it looks like the development studio is attempting to bring out another science fiction narrative experience and one that they hope will prove to be better than their previous release, Mass Effect: Andromeda. At any rate, for fans who have been waiting to get their hands on a copy of the game, it looks like we’ll soon get a small taste of what’s to come in the form of a demo.

It’s almost odd to hear about demos anymore but BioWare is bringing one out for Anthem. We don’t actually know what exactly the demo will feature but this should give potential buyers a chance to try the game out and decide if the full video game purchase, once it hits store shelves, is worth the investment. One thing that we can expect from the demo is that it will not save your progress which means that if this demo does contain the first small section of the game, we won’t be able to continue on right where we left off upon the official launch.

This announcement came from Ben Irving who is a producer for BioWare’s Anthem video game. After a fan reached out to learn if this demo will allow progress to carry over for the full video game release, Ben confirmed that players will be replaying or going through the demo section when the video game releases next year.

As for when you can get your hands on the demo, there are a few different means. If you preordered the game or subscribe to EA Access along with Origin Access then you will get the demo on January 25, 2019. For everyone else, you will be able to get the game demo on February 1, 2019. When it comes to the full game, Anthem will launch officially on February 22, 2019, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms.
