Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 Apocalypse, final batch of DLC, finally confirmed

August 9, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

Includes Origins, which will have you battle zombies and a giant robot.

After weeks of teases, Treyarch has finally confirmed Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2's final DLC. Named Apocalypse, it is releasing first to Xbox Live for 1200 Microsoft Points. The game features two multiplayer maps based on previous games, two completely new multiplayer maps, and Origins, the subject matter of all the recent reveals and their most gruesome Zombies DLC yet.

Pod is based in Taiwan, as an abandoned cliffside residential area, filled with modernist-styled pod homes, becomes a new multiplayer battleground.

Frost is set in a European city in the dead of winter. Opposing sides converge and clash across a snow-capped bridge over a frozen canal.

Takeoff is based on the Stadium map from Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike. You are marooned in an island in the Pacific Ocean, and forced to use close quarters tactics across open areas that taper into tight spaces.

Dig is based on the Courtyard map from Call of Duty: World at War. You are stuck in between two open-air archaeological sites across Afghanistan. This map features freedom with raised platforms and wide layouts, but will give you new ways to cross paths.

Finally, Origin is the Zombies DLC with a surprise. You meet up with the heroes of the first Zombies map, Tank, Nikolai, Takeo, and Rictofen, in a dieselpunk version of World War I France. Aside from fightng off the hordes across trenches and fields, you will get to explore some mysterious ruins.

As could be guessed from all the leaks, this campaign brings us back to when Element 115 was just found. You will get access to Wonder Weapons with supernatural powers, a Mark IV Tank, a diesel drone and others. Aside from the zombies, there will be a 1,000 foot robot standing in your way. It's every bit the stuff childhood fantasies are made of.

Get it on your Xbox this August 27. Other platform owners (especially Wii U) will have to wait for further announcements.
