Remember the Xbox One we were all introduced to on May 21? Well, at this point, you might as well push that model right out of your memory. There will no longer be any of that restrictive DRM that consumers were concerned about, the online check-ins have been axed, and indies can now self-publish their games to Xbox Live. Just about everything that people were mad about has been altered in some manner, and according to a new unboxing video of the Xbox One posted by Microsoft, a headset will be included in the box.
This is news because in the past, Microsoft confirmed that the package would lack any sort of communication device other than the new and improved Kinect. However, the fans seem to have reached the wide-open ears of Microsoft, as a chat headset that offers "3x the sampling rate of the Xbox 360" will be packaged with each and every box. Xbox One owners can expect a “super lightweight" piece of hardware, weighing in at 44 grams. A padded earpiece that can be worn on the left or right ear will help lead to a comfortable gaming experience, with a rotating mic also being featured.
Not quite sold on this added bonus? A series of close-up screenshots have been released to show the quality of the headset.
As of now, there’s no official release date for the Xbox One. Keep an eye out for something solid in the coming months, but remember to mark November down on your calendars.
