Battlefield 4 is being hailed as the biggest FPS to date. With a new engine and an ever-growing following, the series seems to have almost limitless potenital. While we expect greatness from Battlefield 4, a number of recently published videos on Youtube are beginning to paint a more muddled picture.
These videos come from Battlefield 4's new beta. The game's updated Frosbite 3 engine is on display in full force, but this video published by Youtuber GamingWithMack raises some interesting questions:
Personally, we think the game looks fantastic for a title that is still in beta testing. Battlefield 4 already looks extremely polished and even though there were a couple of blips in this video, we're sure that EA and DICE will figure things out relatively quickly. With a franchise like Battlefield, you can't afford to cut any corners and they know this.
Another video, published by Youtuber shosho10199, paints a much more positive picture of Battlefield 4. In this video, the destructibility of the new Frostbite 3 engine is working overtime, taking down a massive skyscraper. This results in a number of different effects on the surrounding environment and if you look back to the first video, you'll see that the in-game character is running around the remnants of the fallen building.
All-in-all, the fourth entry into the Battlefield series is shaping up to be quite the first-person shooter. A lot of questions were being asked about how developers would handle the transition into next-generation hardware/software, but these videos should put any of your worries to rest.
