There will be plenty of new content for fans to check out in NBA 2K14. A more realistic basketball experience will be complemented by next-generation visuals and a soundtrack constructed by none other than Miami Heat star and cover athlete, LeBron James. The changing nature of the NBA will also have an impact on how players will enjoy 2K Games’ latest work. Not only will major players, such as Dwight Howard, play for fresh teams, but one city in particular will have brand new uniforms to sport on the court. That team is New Orleans, which has new jerseys showcasing the Pelican name that the city will now be known for.
Previously, New Orleans’ basketball team was known as the Hornets, with a blue, white, and yellow color scheme printed on all of the memorabilia. But after some poor showings in the last few seasons, now seems like the perfect time for a change. The team has traded its singer for a few feathers, adopting the name Pelicans and a whole new look. 2K Games has just released the above image of Anthony Davis modeling the team’s brand new jerseys in NBA 2K14, which is what you can expect the team to wear when the game drops later this year. Will it actually make a difference on the court? That’s yet to be seen, but for now, let’s just enjoy the new look and worry about the Pelicans’ record when the season starts back up.
