Christine Love announces Hate Plus

August 1, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

Analogue: A Hate Story sequel can use your save data from previous game.

Christine Love fans, the time has come. Yesterday the twine game creator released the trailer for her latest opus, Hate Plus, a sequel to Analogue: A Hate Story.

HATE PLUS TRAILER IS UP. This is no ero story~! http://t.co/GCSeHuTgiC

— Christine Love (@christinelove) July 31, 2013

Introduced with the tagline: "this ain't no ero story", the official site reveals that players of Analogue: A Hate Story, can use their old save data from that game and pick up where they left off. New players won't have to worry, of course, as they can start the game anew. She promises the game will explore themes of transhumanism, cosplay, cake-baking, and of course, patriarchy and human freedom.

Love has dropped several hints in Tumblr and Twitter in the past few days. Her official reveal of the game actually dates back to April 1. Hate Plus picks up from the events of Analogue, and reveals the events in the following three days leading to year 0. This time you will be playing Mute, and will get into her backstory.

Gameplay wise, instead of your AI companion directly handing you the files they have selected, you will have to find these files and discover their contents together. The game will have a considerably larger amount of content, including writing, a new soundtrack by Isaac Shankler and art by Raide. Love has written enough content for three real-time days of gameplay.

Love has also shared a vine featuring a few seconds of gameplay.

Hate Plus will be coming out to Windows, Mac and Linux, and there will also be a free demo. Love has been beset with requests for ports to different systems, and this is what she has to say about it:

I promise if you ask a dev if they've considered porting something, the answer is ALWAYS yes, and either they can't, or can't talk about it

— Christine Love (@christinelove) July 31, 2013

The game will drop August 19, so if you want a copy, bookmark the site today!
