Killzone: Mercenary Gameplay Transitions from Single Player to Multiplayer

July 31, 2013 by Andrea Castellano

Killzone: Mercenary will use your character between the two modes.

In preparation for the Killzone: Mercenary open beta in August, developers at Guerilla Cambridge want players to play enjoy both the single player and multiplayer portions while simultaneously leveling up their character.

If a player boots up the single player campaign for Killzone, kills rewards provide points to level up and unlock new weapons and equipment. The continued progression between both modes will ensure that those playing the campaign won't immediately fall behind those who immediately jump into the multiplayer.

Last month PS Vita owners could sign up for the closed Killzone: Mercenary beta. To not exclude loyal PS Vita owners, Guerilla will open up beta participation for all users later in August.

If you read our preview for Killzone: Mercenary, you will quickly find out how well Killzone transitioned from a console FPS to the Vita handheld.

Killzone: Mercenary will launch on September 10th.
