Red Dead Redemption 2 was one of the most anticipated video game launches of this year and now that the game has finally made its way into the market, practically everyone is exploring the open Wild West world once again. As expected, the game made some pretty impressive numbers at its opening launch which was confirmed from Rockstar. The game made an astonishing $725 million dollars during the launch weekend which makes it the biggest entertainment media release for this year.
Metacritic has also stated that this game is the best-reviewed video game of the year as well. To put things into perspective, the biggest video game launch is held by another Rockstar Games title, Grand Theft Auto V. That particular video game broke over a billion dollars at its weekend launch, so Red Dead Redemption 2 is not trailing too far behind. Regardless, we expect the game to be played for a good while especially since the launch of the online component has not been released.
If you have yet to pick up a copy, Red Dead Redemption 2 takes place prior to the events of Red Dead Redemption, where players take on the role of an outlaw named Arthur Morgan. Being a member of a notorious gang, players will find themselves on the run from the law while they progress the campaign among other activities that are present throughout the game world. You can check out our thoughts on the game within our Before You Buy video posted above.
Currently, Red Dead Redemption 2 is available on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
