Microsoft's lead planner for the Xbox One, Albert Penello, has confirmed on Twitter that there will be an adapter for third party current-gen headsets.
The adapter will be an accessory and it's not currently clear how much it will cost.
Yesterday, Penello confirmed that Microsoft was "looking into" the possibility of including a headset with every Xbox One as they do with Xbox 360. They dropped the inclusion of a headset due to the presence of the mandatory Kinect sensor.
Some users have expressed concern about foul and abusive language being broadcast over Kinect although Microsoft is taking steps to reform the Xbox One's reputation system and who will play with who.
Sony has announced that every PS4 will come with a headset and current PS3 headsets will be supported by their next console.
Even so, it's good to see Microsoft has listened to feedback from fans and introduced the adapter.
