Ever since the release of the Mario Kart franchise, other developers have been attempting to capture the same love for their own IP title release. One of those game franchises that we hope doesn’t get overlooked is the Sonic Racing series which features not only Sega’s Sonic The Hedgehog character but a wide variety of Sega iconic characters and maps. There are only two video game installments within the franchise which are Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.
The third installment, known as Team Sonic Racing, the game was recently announced to be pushed back for a release in May of next year. Much like the past two installments, Team Sonic Racing is a kart racing game which features Sega iconic characters in a variety of vehicles and various game level designs from the slew of titles owned by Sega. Another aspect to the game is the cooperative game modes in which players must share power-ups as the attempt to win races.
This title is developed under Sumo Digital and unfortunately, there are no fine details as to what the reason behind the delay is but it will apparently help get this game up to speed with all the intended features and mechanics running smoothly.
As it currently stands, Team Sonic Racing will be launching on May 21, 2019, for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the PC platform.
