Crusader Kings 2 owners who pre-order Europa Universalis 4 will be able to transfer their save progress over to the latter game upon its release on August 13 for PC, Mac and Linux, Paradox Interactive has announced.
If you pre-order Europa Universalis 4 from August 1st you'll also get a copy of Crusader Kings 2 for free which you can use yourself or gift to someone else in addition to the save-transfer utility.
The save-transfer ability will allow players to guide their Crusader Kings 2 empires through the Age of Exploration in an "all new strategic experience, continuing their personal stories of expansion and conquest."
Those who have already pre-ordered the game will not miss out as they'll also gain access to the extras.
For more on how the save-transfers will work Paradox is hosting a Twitch stream today at 11:00 PDT/19:00 BST/20:00 CEST which you can watch here.
You can also check out a trailer for Europa Universalis 4 which will give you some idea of what to expect when the game launches.
Eventually, the save converter may be rolled out to those who didn't pre-order the game, possibly as DLC but there's no word on that yet.
