The Witcher 3 to be Distributed by Warner Bros. in North America

July 25, 2013 by Josiah Renaudin

CD Projekt RED has a distributor ready and willing to bring Wild Hunt to North America.

CD Projekt RED officially has a North American distributor for its upcoming RPG epic, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will distribute and promote the product, which is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One sometime in 2014. This is a fresh agreement between the two groups, but Warner Bros. also brought The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition to North America not long ago.

A statement on the big news was just released today, where CD Projekt Red president Adam Kicinski couldn’t sound more excited about the possibilities this partnership opens up. In the text, Kicinski called the launch of The Witcher "the most important event in CD Projekt's history" and labeled publisher Warner Bros. an "extremely valuable partner” due to its experience and established position in the "crucial" American market.

Getting The Witcher games on home consoles and PCs in North America shouldn’t be an issue due to the series’ popularity, but don’t forget that there are plenty of mature themes throughout the story that can make rating the game difficult. Thankfully, nothing about Wild Hunt will be toned down to appease ratings boards.

"We don't create the game with any specific rating in mind," team member Agnieszka Szostak said. "We implement in it things we believe will create the best gaming experience. Whether those are meaningful choices, deep relationships between characters, sex scenes, bloody combat or curses.”

Look for all the sex and violence of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next year.
